Somehow I can't see the use of this app. It produces tons of micro freezes in my OS across all of the open apps. I've purchased it along with Catalina Cache Cleaner, which, but I can't imagine spending money on something like this with a negative impact on the UX of the OS. I can't get it.

There's a older version of Appriority (7 years ago!) that's still being sold on the App Store for $2.99. Is the App Store version ever going to be updated? If not, shouldn't it be pulled?

Is it possible to keep open 1.5-2 dozen applications; a couple of browsers with half a hundred tabs? And at the same time continue to operate the system? Answer: In general, yes, if you have 16 GB of RAM or more ... However, if you have a MacBook with 4GB RAM? Of course - no, that's crazy! The system simply will stand! But, believe me, this madness is possible with this great application ... If, Appriorityr is a major part in the bundle: Process Control System (CPU); management and redistribution of inactive system memory (RAM), control inactive tabbed browsers (Suspend Tab: Fierfoks, Chrome). Without this bunch we can not achieve smooth operation of the system under load. Appriority performs work for the MAK OS. It is unfortunate that the MAK OS standard tools are not able to perform this task in full. The MAK OS has a function App Nap, but only for individual applications. Appriority performs the task to lull the majority of them. This allows you to quickly switch to the application process and neutralize the active window background process, thus relieving the system. What is lacking in Appriority? 1) The effective management of inactive memory. release inactive memory problem can be solved by using "Memory Cleaner X" applications (http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/42771/memory-cleaner-с) or "Memory tamer" application (http: // www .macupdate.com / app / mac / 51681 / memorytamer). The latter, a free add up to 20-25% of RAM, at the expense of efficient compression and memory reallocation (MAK OS Why it can not do?) That allow you to run more resource-intensive processes. But it is possible for a second snubs when switching between processes. These two applications, unlike the majority of similar, do not suffer from memory leaks. And they do not lead to freezing of the system when they are doing their job. 2) to set the whole preoritety on a one or more processes. And this preoritety automatically removed when the application is closed. It is able to do AppPolice (http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/49836/apppolice) application For the full effectiveness of the Appriority be helpful, (if you are using Chrome or Fierfox browsers), set rashireniem of the respective stores, disables inactive tabs ( "Suspend tab"). This is will increase the speed of switching between applications. Known minor issues in Appriority. This individual cases when a short-term switch from application to application, interrupted playback of streaming audio or video. In this case when you return to the app provides streaming, streaming is not restored, and the playback error occurs. In this regard, it would be useful to add to Appriority layer is to protect the opportunity from time to suppress the process responsible for streaming (with the ability to call for this option from the menu bar). Regarding the menu bar ... I'd love to see the window "current process" when you hover over Appriority icon in the menu bar. It's nice to see that the developer will make the further development of their application will take into account the wishes voiced above. It will be interesting rasmotret like another app developer, walking on the same path that Appriority: App Tamer (https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/35293/app-tamer). This app has a more intuitive interface, and as well cope with the task of process management in Mac OS.

It's necessary to lead the user to take good decisions or suggest some preset and clean up some not working commands. I could make examples of confusing statement about what is suspended in a window and not in another one, what should work but is not. But then... a good guide for the most popular and CPU sucking apps should be there (Chrome helpers, renders and other long lists of mysterious processes, most of them for sure 'suspendable' but not without risks of bad behaviours like toggling between applications
